Emergency Response Center Operator (m/w/d)

Dresden
Full-time
Permanent employee

Build Europe's semiconductor future with us!

For the construction of our state-of-the-art semiconductor fab in Dresden, we are looking for you to be the point of contact for our operational safety. All threads in the area of emergency and crisis management converge in the Emergency Response Center (ERC) – our central security control center.
In this role, you are both the "head" in the control room and the "eye" on-site at the fab. You monitor our sensitive gas warning and fire protection systems, evaluate alarm situations in seconds, and initiate the first rescue and safety measures. If you are looking for a responsible task where your composure and technical expertise make the decisive difference in an emergency, then help us create the safest semiconductor fab in Europe.

Job Responsibilities

Security Control Center & Alerting
  • Security Monitoring: You continuously monitor the control room systems (including fire alarm systems, gas monitoring systems (GMS), and CCTV camera systems).
  • Incident Management: In the event of incoming emergency calls or alarms, you perform the initial situational assessment and alert emergency services as well as the internal Emergency Response Team (ERT) in accordance with ESMC security guidelines.
  • Interface Function: You coordinate communication between system engineers, the fab. fire department, and management in the event of an incident.
  • Documentation: You maintain shift logs and ensure complete documentation of all occurrences.
Prevention & Safety Audits (Field Work)
  • Safety Walkthroughs: You conduct regular inspections and thematic safety audits in the fab to identify potential hazards at an early stage.
  • Work Permits: You check and verify high-risk work on-site (e.g., hot work, work in confined spaces/containers) and provide safety clearance for these activities.
  • System Maintenance: Together with the ESH and system engineers, you ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency tools in the fab are always ready for use.

Your profile

Must Have
  • Education: Successfully completed technical training plus further education in the field of protection and security, fire protection, or fab. fire brigade.
  • Mentality: Exceptional composure, decisiveness, and ability to concentrate – particularly in stressful and exceptional situations.
  • Working Style: High safety awareness, reliability, and strong team orientation.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work in a continuous shift system (24/7).
  • Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken German and English (our corporate language is English; coordination with local authorities is conducted in German).
  • Formalities: Valid work permit for Germany.
Nice to Have
  • Practical experience in an emergency call and service center (NSL), fab. fire brigade, emergency medical services, or industrial emergency management.
  • Knowledge of handling gas detection systems, fire alarm technology, and industrial safety technology.
  • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin is a plus for international exchange.
